Enrolment process
We welcome enrolment enquiries from families looking to join Hendon Primary School. Below is a simple guide to getting started.

How to enrol
Step 1:
Submit a New Enrolment Request Form (available from the front office or website).
Step 2:
We will review your enrolment request. Please ensure all sections are completed on the New Enrolment Request Form.
Step 3:
We will contact you with next steps, which may include an enrolment meeting. During this meeting, we can support you to complete the enrolment form if needed.
You will need to provide:
- a completed enrolment form
- a copy of the child’s original birth certificate or passport
- an immunisation certificate
- residency visa, if you’re a non-Australian resident
- proof of address (for example utility bill or lease agreement).
Starting school
If your child turns 5:
- before 1 May, they can start primary school at the beginning of that year
- between 1 May and 31 October, they can start in either:
- Term 3 of that year, or
- Term 1 the following year
- after 31 October, they will start school the following year
Your child must be enrolled at school by their 6th birthday.
If our school is not your local school, you can still apply to enrol. Placement may be offered if positions are available.
Students who begin through a mid-year intake will complete 6 terms of Reception.
Transition visits
If you are submitting an enrolment request for the following year, ask us about transition visit dates in term 4. This is for all students starting school the following year.
