Mr Scott Mathews, School Principal
Welcome to Hendon Primary School and Preschool.
I feel extremely privileged to have been appointed as leader of Hendon Primary School from the beginning of this year. My most recent leadership positions have included Principal at Elizabeth North Primary and Salisbury Downs Primary, Principal Consultant in the Para Hills and Salisbury areas, and Deputy Principal at Allenby Gardens. Earlier in my career I was a Wellbeing Leader, middle to upper primary classroom teacher and PE teacher. These experiences have helped shape my leadership style which others would describe as highly collaborative, relational and strategic. As Principal, I lead with respect, integrity, empathy and fairness, always focusing on how we can best support our students.
Hendon is an exciting place to lead, with such a diverse and vibrant community, where staff, students and their families work closely together to maximise the potential of each student to achieve their own personal best. Some of our unique features include an onsite preschool, two special classes, instrumental music opportunities, a Governing Council run OSHC, and future pathway programs for our upper primary students. Our professional and approachable staff deliver high-quality learning opportunities, in a safe, inclusive and caring environment, supporting the academic, social and emotional growth for each of our students.
